change of majors: mechanical engineering to mathematical computer science and econ

Hey all

so i'm going to be a junior this upcoming semester and am a mechanical engineering major. i'm not doing well because i have a low gpa, so i thought i should change because its not gonna get any easier and also because graduating with such a low gpa won't help me at all in getting a job.

so i'm thinking of changing my major to mathematical computer science (mcs) and economics. the mcs major is offered at my school and i really dont know of any other school that offers a major such like this one. but anyways, im thinking of double majoring in mcs and econ because in the mcs curriculum it says "Hours of Electives to complete degree requirement of 120 hours: 29-48". and the econ major is only 37 credit hours. so i thought that's perfect.

now my question to all the mechE/cs/math/econ majors is this: is this a lucrative major in terms of getting me a job? or should i just stay mechanical and grind it out?

i really like mechanical engineering a lot because i'm really fascinated by space, planes, cars and all that..like how they work and designing that all seems like a helluva job to have some day, but it's just getting way too hard for me and i have a really low gpa already
