Change subject test on day of test?

I understood that:

1) You can show up the day of the test and take a different test than the one you registered for (except for language), and

2) You can add another test on the day of the test

Is this true?

The reason I ask is because my son receives accommodations and takes the test at a specific location. They emailed and said they got his math test. I assumed they sent all the tests! He had planned to switch to literature since he didn't feel prepared for the math.

Is he stuck taking the math?

I'll call them tomorrow morning, but thought I'd ask tonight.

Thanks.

Yes to both questions.

On #2, you will have to submit payment, after the test, in order to get the score report.

He should not be stuck taking math.

However, you got an accommodation, so I would call and just tell them in advance he is switching tests.

Thank you, awc. I did see that on the College Board site. I just need to confirm that the testing site actually does have the other tests and that they do understand my son can switch tests.

An you know, the CB website says this:

What accommodations does our son get? It should not matter, but if, for instance, he gets an enlarged answer sheet, you want to be sure they have the resources on hand.

Good luck!

He gets time and a half, breaks as needed, and keyboarding.

I just called them and they said he has to take the test he was signed up for because his accommodations require school based testing. Ugh. Different than what they told me last time.

That’s not what my son’s school said. He has accommodations too.

It is your son’s school’s responsibility to make sure he has proper accommodations but also has NO penalty for using accommodations.

I’d call the College Board SSD folks ASAP if you are worried about this for Saturday.

Already did and they were the ones that told me no. Because his accommodations are “school-based” rather than “test site based”, I would have had to tell them by Monday in order for them to send another test out in time. It’s because of the specific type of accommodation he receives.
