<p>What can I do during the summer to help my college application next school year? I'm already doing an internship at Naval Research Laboratory in DC. Do any of you know of any essay contests or such things that are good to win and add to my application?</p>

<p>you could publish something in a literary/scholarly journal, google it! Orrr, take advantage of the fact that you are in DC and hang out with politicians...or just call their campaign office/secretaries and ask if you can be their ***** for the summer (i.e. intern)</p>
