I have read before that a black background with white font is actually more suitable for the human eye, and since I know many people spend so much time on this forum, wouldn’t that make more sense? The current gray/black scheme looks good but it’s kind of hard on the eyes. What does everyone think?
I really dislike reading pages with black backgrounds. White text is fine to read, but additional colors used for links and other emphasis are often impossible to read.
I would shoot my eyes out if I had to go through a forum with a black background and white fonts.
God forbid.
Reading w/ a white background is essentially bombarding the eye with pixels of light. black is better.
I like the idea of white text on a black background. I just don’t want them to go too crazy with bright, funky colors and graphics.
Depending on what browser you use, you can just set a specialized style sheet that changes the colors for you.
The grey color scheme is very subtle and easy on the eyes. I dont see for the need to switch to black with a white foreground.
AHHHH MY EYES ARE BEING BOMBARDED BY PIXELS OF LIGHT
and i like it the way it is now…
lets not turn it emo.
Make it a black background with a blue font so it looks like the text is floating.
You can set any background color and text color you like with your own browser. Research has shown that what Amazon, Google, Yahoo, and the other top rated sites do is optimal for most users: white background with black text (which they actually get by not specifying any particular background, and going with the browser defaults).
