Ok my freshman year I did soccer. I'm my sophomore year now also doing soccer but I've decided to not do soccer junior and senior year. Instead I would do cross country during the fall and swim instead of soccer in the spring.

The question is, does switching sports and not going all the way to senior year seem bad to colleges?

Colleges want you to do what you want to do. It's when you start making choices based on "what you think they want" when you'll screw yourself. If you want to do XC, then by all means do it. Don't hold back because you're scared of what a college will think.

The idea that they'll get is that you were active in your athletic participation. It doesn't really matter which sport you played unless you're gunning for varsity athletics in college or a scholarship.

Do what you want to do. I played soccer freshman year, field hockey sophomore and junior year, and then this year I rowed crew. But in the winter I always played ice hockey, and in the spring lacrosse.

Yeah, just do what you want. I was really into basketball and played 9th and 10th grade year, however the varsity coach is an a-hole and our team is god awful and losing isn't fun. So, I played tennis also to try it out in 10th grade. I found it fun, but a little slow-paced for my liking. I would still play tennis for intramural, just not on the school team. Now, Im going to be playing lacrosse my junior and senior year and it is awesome and I love it. Plus, we are pretty good.
