<p>I'd like to see what my chances are at Carnegie Mellon University-School of Computer Science, and at the University of Pennsylvania. I know that the admission rates are super low, but both are my top schools, and I want to know if I have a chance.</p>
<p>GPA: 3.97 unweighted, 4.64 on a 5.5 scale. I've had four A- grades, 3 in honors sciences classes and one in AP Macroeconomics. I'll have taken 8 AP classes by the end of high school, and about 11 honors classes. No science senior year, but two maths : AP Calc AB and AP Computer Science. I also have a community college course on C++ Programming on my high school transcript, with a grade of Passing.
ACT: 32, but 33 superscored. (Superscore 34 E, 33 M, 32 R, 33 S)
Rank: 13 out of 313, in the top 4%.
Extracurriculars: Eagle Scout with a Bronze Palm, President of Scholastic Bowl (Secretary junior year), in the Honors Choir my last two years, National Honors Society member, participated in IMEA sophomore-senior year (a choir organization in Illinois), made All-State Choir my junior year, one year of junior varsity and one of varsity tennis, worked as a cashier one summer, a summer camp counselor the next, and a flag football instructor for young kids this fall. In Improvisation club all four years. Lead role in spring musical junior year, four minor roles in musical my freshman year. Went on a trip to China sophomore year for 17 days with People to People Student Ambassador Program.
Excellent, heartfelt letters of recommendation. For Penn, an additional letter from a family friend who went to Penn and knows the Dean of Engineering.
