<p>Beginning with the Class of 2019, PPU will no longer offer the Musical Theatre BA admissions. Instead, students will be accepted directly into the BFA program, thus eliminating the current process of auditioning for BFA in MT during sophomore year. The hope is to matriculate a class of 20 (10 males/10 females). The school will also offer a BA in Theatre Arts. </p>
<p>One year too late for my S - he will have to audition for their BFA next year. We also heard this from their MT Head back in the spring. Not sure their website reflects this change though (at least the last time I looked I couldn’t find it).</p>
The university has updated the online information about the BA and BFA degrees, with the BA more fully described. The language though is a bit oblique about auditioning for Conservatory Theatre productions. This would be a good question to ask the administration if you are accepted into into the BA program.
