Hi everyone.
i was told over the phone by a very informative HC representative that selection into the Health Professions Advisory Program is now taking place after one semester of school (for freshman). this sounds like a very wise direction for the school to take. what are your thoughts?

If true, it seems like a great idea.

Holy Cross has decided to change our policy regarding the Pre-Health Program, just as you mentioned. The College wants students to come to campus and take classes, both in the Pre-Health recommended fields and otherwise, and see how they like it. This new policy gives students the freedom to explore a range of classes to help truly decide what they want to study, and also takes away the stress of applying to a program that could inhibit their chances of getting in.

Holy Cross students can now apply for the Pre-Health program after one semesters, or can wait until after their entire freshman year. It is required to take at least one class in the natural sciences before applying to the program, to help the committee determine if they will be a strong candidate for the Pre-Health program.
