<p>It seems to me that logical reasoning is a higher-level skill that is used by those who create and teach the specific strategies needed to do well on standardized tests. </p>

<p>I would submit that reasoning is half the battle of the SAT-M. Some/many? of the so-called hard problems become easy if one looks at them the right way, aka with reasoning skills. </p>
<p>Further, IMO, those to whom HS Geom comes easily, have learned enough good reasoning skills to do well on SAT-M. Those who struggle in Geom, will have to work harder to learn the ‘tricks’ of SAT-M.</p>
