Changing a Major Before Orientation

Who specifically do I contact to discuss changing the major I have applied for at UT before I attend an orientation session?

I would now like to major in Studio Art, but have applied for Linguistics. The deadline for studio art portfolio submission and application is long gone, so I might have to just wait until the next time that's available (next year, perhaps, while I get my core classes out of the way this year?), but is there a way (if I can't get into Art somehow) to change my major to Undeclared for now? I have heard I should contact an advisor, but looking at the UT website, there are many different kinds of advisors, and I do not know which one to contact, or if there's anything special I have to do.

(In MyStatus, I used up the major change request to change to studio art, but it was denied and the option to use that request is no longer available. It seems I have no choice but to contact someone.)

Talk to admissions. I was trying to switch my major last week and literally talked to 8 different people regarding advising/changing majors. I too thought my best option was to talk to an advisor first, but Admissions was the best at answering my questions. If admissions doesn’t offer much hope, you can always talk to an advisor from your specific college as well.
