Changing a planned course

Hi, I recently decided to drop a course that I had planned for my Spring Semester (just started) on my UC application. Do I need to contact the UCs to alert them that I am not taking this course?
This course does not affect my major or amount of units I need to transfer in anyway. It was just a class I was thinking of taking for fun, but I thought I would save money since I did not need this course. Although, I am considered a part time student now.

What all schools did you apply to?

For UC Davis and UCLA, all you have to do is update the information on your UC application. (the same process that you did in January for that update)

For UC San Diego, you have to fill out an additional form on their website stating what the change was.

For Berkeley, you have to update the information online like you would for UCLA or UC Davis, and then you would have to fax them the change listing: your full name as it appears on the UC application, the ID you got from filing your UC application, date of birth, last college attended, and the change you wish them to take into consideration (for you it would be the dropping of a class).

I had a similar situation and these are the only schools I applied to, so that’s all the information I can give you.

Hope this helped! Best of luck!

Ah cool. Thanks alot! I applied to the same schools you did, except for Davis. I also applied to UCR, but was already accepted.

Sorry for bumping this, but I have a concern that might affect my acceptance to UCSD. I was already admitted, but still.
I TAGed UCSD w/ the planned courses at my school: GEOL 1, CHEM 40, and GERM 2, but I ended up not taking CHEM 40 and instead added 2 different classes to my UC application: ANTH 5 and BIO 2. to my planned courses. However, I ended up dropping BIO 2 the first week for Spring 13, thus the courses that I am taking now are ANTH 5, GERM 2, and GEOL 1. I have done every academic update as instructed by UCSD before I was admitted. All of these classes are also elective courses as I have already completed IGETC, 60 units, and my major prerequisites. So my question is, does this possibly rescind my application because one of my elective courses on my TAG is different from the one I am taking now?

I called UCSD admissions with my concern, but they transferred me to a slightly rude, not so helpful officer that I guess refused to answer my question. I explained my situation to another person and they said that I could only wait. It’s acceptable since they are still very busy with applications.

UCSD really doesn’t care what classes you take as long as dont fall below the 60 semester units (90 quarter units) mark. Especially since they’re just electives and not even for your major, it won’t matter. I changed up my schedule too and i called them and thats what they told me.
