Hello, I was wondering if it is more ideal to have an EC volunteering in a hospital than a different activity. I am currently volunteering for a library (where I am getting two or four hours a week,) and I am about to start volunteering for a charity. I know it is common to be volunteering at a library and helping the poor is a really good way of community service, so I was wondering if I should drop the library for hospital volunteering. I do boring activities at the library and I am not learning much from it. I could apply to volunteer for the hospital in August and I've heard from others that it is really flexible there and you could pick where you want to volunteer sometimes. The hospital is a little closer to my house than the library too so I would save time off of walking. Should I change it? Just want to say that it is not possible for me to volunteer at the library and the hospital at the same time when school starts because the hospital requires four hours minimum a week for the first six months of volunteering. I was thinking the hospital would compliment my desired science major and career in my admission essay. The only EC I have for now that is health related is a Pre-med club at school and I will possibly join another interesting club when school starts. I am going to be a HS junior next year so I want to act fast. Thanks for your help CCers, I really appreciate it.
