After doing some research, it appears that I would benefit more from Cal Grant B than Cal Grant A. I have an EFC of 0, and qualify for the Blue and Gold Opportunity plan.

I have already attended my UC for two years, going into my third. Is there a way to switch to Cal Grant B?

Upon further research, it looks like I cannot change from A to B after my initial funds were disbursed freshman year.

This is ridiculous, I think I just left 1.5K times 4 years on the table for NOTHING.

What’s even more aggravating is that my school decides which one is more beneficial for the STUDENT if a student qualifies for both A and B. I don’t remember ‘picking’ A; so I assume they picked it for me?

This is just stupid, Cal Grant A saves the school money (because they would have to pick up the tab from the Blue and Gold Opportunity plan if I had Cal Grant B).

Did I just ‘leave’ 6K+ on the table because my school decided Cal Grant A was more “beneficial” to ME?

This can’t be right…can it?
