Changing CalSO Days?

If I were to register for a specific date for CalSO, would I be able to change the date? Would there be any fees?

Thanks!

u would have to cancel the one u signed up for ($20 fee i think). and u would have to sign up for a new date

Would it be better if I were to sign up for an earlier date, or would it not matter? Would the students who sign up for the earlier dates be able to register earlier for classes?

Does anyone know why CalSO is SO expensive?

I wouldn’t be complaining. My orientation for UCSC costed $200 and was even more of a joke than Calso. It lasted like three hours…

That wasn’t complaining… That was a serious question! haha Like… Really… Why is it so expensive?

Do we get stuff? Cal gear? A class catalogue? Food?

Or is it $175 just 'cause?

i cancelled mine and now it says i owe 20 dollars. i think there is no cancellation fee if you cancel within 10 days

it only cost me 100 dollars because I’m an admitted student - it should have been the same for you guys. it is only 175 for guests, which is why I’m going alone hahah

no, it’s 100 dollars if you qualify under financial aid criteria. otherwise, 175

As for my previous question, are there any benefits of registering for an earlier date? Also, how would we qualify under financial aid criteria?

Thank you.

if you got a lot of financial aid, then you’re pretty much qualified. visit the calso website to see the specific advantages. i’ll be out of the country, so i’m not going. you can access the website on you myberkeleyapp page.

@ mikei
That’s EXACTLY what I was thinking when I saw the $175 fee -_-
I THOUGHT ORIENTATION WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FREE.

Three meals will be provided, I believe. And I think they’re going to be giving out a lot of Cal gear, like lanyards and whatnot. Probably class catalogs. Definitely, a lot of packets upon packets of information. That and they have to pay for all the employees -_- There’s gonna be a butt ton of students there. And it’s only a one day event so it’s crunched into 12 hours.

Haha. Just keep in mind, the freshmen have to pay $260 :o

im going on june 9/10th with the overnight accommodations. it was only $35 extra i think to sleep in the dorms

They will be giving out Cal gears?

here’s the confirmation email, it says they will give us “alot of stuff.” i assume that “stuff” means brochures, class catalogs, and other crap we don’t need
