changing classes at colby

i didnt take a lot of time choosing my classes for colby because i didnt really know what i want to take. Can i easily change my classes during orientation?

I don’t know this first-hand, because we’re just parents of another incoming freshman, but at the Colby event for our state current students said that it was extremely easy to switch around. Whitemule and Mountains, got any input?

As long as the classes you want are open, I don’t see why this is a problem. My S never changed his classes, so I really don’t know.

It really depends on the class. If it’s a popular course, enrollment might be full prior to its start, making adding the course difficult (I wrote about this in another post).

Add/drop period is open for roughly the first two-weeks after classes start, at which time you can change classes. Most classes only meet 2 or 3 times a week, but keep in mind that college classes start covering material on the first day, so the more classes you miss prior to adding a course, the harder it’ll be to catch up.

is there a “shopping period” at colby?

No “shopping period” a la Tufts. Add/drop is open for the first two weeks following the start of the semester.
