Unfortunately, the only option I had for summer orientation was the last orientation there was.

That means I did not get all the classes I wanted.

I see that the add / drop period for classes is coming up soon, so how likely am I to switch into a professor I prefer?

Currently, I have BIO 311C with Jessica Wandelt since she was the only one available. I've heard she is quite difficult so I was leaning towards other professors such as Mr. Sathasivan and Mr. Zhao.

yesterday was the deadline for tuition and some people may have missed the deadline and all of their classes have been dropped. So there maybe some openings then because of that reason, and people change around their classes. You may acutally have a pretty good chance.

Wake up really early on the 22nd and have your adds planned right when it opens for add/drop. I think it’s 8am that you can start add/drop. Wake up at 7, get all your openings aligned, and then press the button right at 8.

Sunday is the start of add/drop. Here’s my RIS page, which is probably about the same as everybody else’s who paid by the 11th:

Sun 22 Aug 1p-12m
Mon 23 Aug 7p-12m
Tue 24 Aug 8a-5p

So I guess it’s not Sunday morning, it’s in the afternoon, unless that’s because my last name starts with a V and I am a Junior by credit hours.

Well, we don’t have the same add / drop periods - probably cause I’m a fish.

And if they are sorting out the times by last name again, that’s pretty lame. At orientation, I was one of the first ones there, but had to go in the last group cause my last name starts with a T =.

Here are mine.

Thu 19 Aug 12:30p-12m| Fri 20 & Sat 21 Aug 8a-12m|
Sun 22 & Mon 23 Aug 7p-12m| Tue 24 Aug 8a-5p

What do you mean have your adds planned? Do you mean just have the course numbers ready to go?

Oh wow, I’ve never seen freshmen get to go before upperclassmen for registration. I guess this one add/drop period is the one exception. The add/drop before spring semester is still earlier for upperclassmen.

And yeah, just have a plan set in place (drop X, add Y, etc) and have a backup or two also. That way you waste no time sorting through the course catalog. Tons of people are there ready to go the minute add/drop opens.
