My son received his grades from Spring Semester and found out he will need to retake a class and needs to change around his schedule for next Fall Semester. Of course they are locked out from making changes to their schedule unitl August. Is there anyway around this? Hate to have to wait until all of the Freshmen have scheduled their classes. Have read Mwallenmd comments and know you have quite a bit of knowledge - any suggestions or anyone else have thoughts?
About the only I could suggest would be for your son to contact his advisor and inquire if there is anything that can be done right now. I suspect the answer will be no but at least he could try. If the issue is with one particular course that ends up being full with new freshman your son could try and directly contact the professor for the course and ask if the professor will allow him to enter the course even though it is full. Some professors will allow this, others will not. But it might be at least worth a shot if you son finds himself in the situation. Good luck.
When registration opens again in August he will have plenty of time to find the classes he needs. People are always adding or dropping classes. At this point, contact the advisor and if they do not respond contact the professor.
