So here's the deal:

I wrote one draft of my Common App essay that went through a lot of revisions (through my English teacher and several other readers) and that I considered final. However, this past weekend I was told that my essay, while extremely well-written and unlikely to hurt me, is not very focused on the prompt. With this in mind, I rewrote the essay, keeping some elements the same but drastically changing others. But right now I am on Fall Break and am unable to show my new essay to my English teacher (whose judgment I really value) or anybody else at school.

My application to Georgia Tech is due on Wednesday, and I believe that Essay #1 will be enough for me to get into that school. Even the guy who said my essay was unfocused stressed to me that the essay will not hurt me for ANY school, and will certainly be fine for Georgia Tech. So can I submit Essay #1 to Georgia Tech, but then copy-paste the new essay for my submissions to schools with an 11/1 deadline? Will Common App prevent me from copy-pasting the new essay? Or does it not care how many edits I make in between versions, as long as I only submit 3 versions of my essay? I don't want to be in a position where I am stuck with Essay #1 even though Essay #2 may be better.

Thanks so much, and sorry the question is so long.
