Changing course schedule after acceptance?

Hello everyone! So I’m incredibly grateful to have been accepted SCEA, but now I’m a little confused. I want to switch one of my courses for another. I’ve already met all my credit requirements for my high school and the recommended guidelines for Yale. Would I need to inform Yale that I’m switching before I do so? I think I’d read somewhere that I have to talk to my admissions officer about any schedule changes.

That doesn’t seem to make much sense. Given that your course selection occurs after enrollment, it wouldn’t make sense that you would talk to the admissions office which is responsible for admitting students to the college

@shawnspencer oh, sorry, I wasn’t clear enough! I meant changing my schedule for this current semester in high school, not for college haha

Then yes you should email them to let them know you changed your schedule. It likely won’t make that much difference in the long run, but it is a nice courtesy so there doesn’t appear to be a discrepencies when comparing your final transcripts

I think that if you are going to let them know at all, it should be through your guidance dept. It should be an official thing and not just an email from a future student. But unless it changes anything dramatic, I would not really worry about it. Its not like you are affecting your reasons they accepted you.

Short of dropping all your AP courses this should be a non-issue. Don’t sweat it.

My kids’ GC was quite adamant that any change to your HS schedule, even a small one, should be communicated to all schools (EA and RD). You should email admissions and let them know.
