Changing decision to enroll?

I was accepted to two different schools as a Spring transfer this year. Because the first school gave me a decent enough financial aid package and the deadline to reply was only a day away by the time I got it (I had not received from my package from the second school) I made the decision to attend the first, and put in my non-refundable deposit, accepted my finaid package etc. Now, however, I've received financial aid from the second school and it's an amazing package... I don't have a lot of resources financially speaking, and the second's schools offer is something I really don't want to pass up. Is it possible to still withdraw my application from the first school and attend the second without causing any issues? I understand that I won't get my deposit back, but besides that...?

It shouldn’t be a big deal. Just be sure to call them and tell you your story. They’ll appreciate your effort to let them know. Also, be clear that you know you won’t get the deposit back…tell that upfront.

It’s not a big deal. You’ll just lose your deposit. Just make sure to withdraw your acceptance from the first school before accepting the second. Colleges dislike it when students accept more than one school at the same time, and if this happens, both colleges may withdraw their acceptances.
