I’ve been planning to apply as an ED 2 applicant for Pomona, but I’ve realized a week ago that Tufts is the better suited school for me (but yes, I should’ve researched more before making any decision to apply ED). My mom and my counselor already signed the ED agreement form (electronically) for Pomona but I haven’t submitted any applications yet in Common App.
Is it possible for me to apply to Tufts as an ED 2 applicant? Although I’ve already signed the form for Pomona as an ED applicant? My counselor says it’s not possible but I don’t understand why not if I haven’t submitted anything.
If you haven’t sent it out, all you need to do is change your application from ED II to regular. I decided to not to ED II to Vanderbilt after all and all I did was change it to RD. The ED II agreement signed by my parents and by my counselor disappeared.
If you end up submitting your app to Pomona for ED2, I’m sure it will be easy to email them and ask them to switch it to RD. As for whether you can switch to Tufts ED2, I think that’s more a question of whether you can get your GC to switch it for you before the deadline. I assume you’re on Winter Break and reaching your GC may be a problem. So I think the important thing is to get both apps submitted by their respective deadlines.
You can submit your app ED2 to tufts post vacation and deadline. My son’s guidance counselor did that 2 yrs ago and he got in. Email tufts to let them know you’d like to change ur app to ED 2. They are accommodating.
Honestly I don’t think ED2 helps that much at Pomona if you’re an unhooked applicant. If you’re changing your mind this late in the game, maybe ED isn’t the best choice for you and you should do RD for both.
I finally got in touch with my counselor again and asked her for the switch one more time.
