I just received an email today that my EFC had changed from 2128 to 3499. I already received all of my financial aid packages though. Is this change going to have a big effect on my final packages? Do I have to resend the FAFSA to everyone? Thanks in advance.

They will likely reduce your packages in accordance with the new EFC. The schools will download the FAFSA themselves in most cases.

Thanks for the reply. Are they just going to decrease it $1400 or will it be more than that?

The frustrating but standard answer is... it depends. The school's financial track record will give you an idea of how much. If the school meets 100% of financial need, the you can expect a dollar for dollar drop. If they meet less that 100%, then you can expect more than a dollar for dollar drop.

Ok thanks. I am almost definitely going to Northwestern and they gave me amazing aid. Much better than all of my other colleges. Hopefully this means they will do a dollar for dollar drop.

NW has a track record of meeting 100% of family need, so I wouldn't expect a drop anymore than the change in your EFC.
