Changing Emails and Demonstrated Interest

I read advice here and elsewhere to set up a separate email address just for the Common App to separate out the marketing chaff from important emails from colleges DD24 has applied. Seems reasonable and we have done that, but now I’m wondering if sending applications using this special email would throw off DI tracking for colleges where she has already done tours (registered through her personal email address) or interacted with AO’s or online content. Does anyone know how DI is tracked and if switching emails for the application would make a difference?

When you register for events, you should be giving your name and high school as well. Both students and adults use multiple email addresses. Email address is not the only piece of information that colleges use to identify a student.
