Changing Major Before Classes Begin

I was initially accepted as a major in Communication but I would like to change it to Political Science:International Relations! How can i do this before classes start in the fall? Thanks

You have to change majors by turning in a written form, so it is unlikely that you can change majors before classes start, although you could probably mail the form in as well. I don't know I never looked.

However, your major has nothing to do with what classes you CAN sign up for except for certain engineering majors, so just sign up for classes like you're a poli sci major and attend the poli sci orientation if the department has one, look it up on their website. In other words, whether or not you can change majors before classes start it dosen't really matter anyways.

just change it later. Like TTN said, your major doesn't have anything to do with the classes you can take. So just make sure to sign up for all the required classes (which is probably the same as the communication major for the first quarter).

i'm assuming you're a freshman right?

yes i am a freshman...thanks alot guys for clearing that up. after the first quarter i just change majors or shuld i just wait till i declare a major after sophomore year?

I recommend changing when you have time. If your dept organizes seminars or speakers of interest or fun stuff, you might want to hear about it, and the only way they know you're a polisci major and will tell you (via email) is if you're in their dept.
