Changing Major Before Orientation

I was recently admitted to VA Tech, but am thinking about changing my major. When I applied in the fall, I was considering several options, so I applied University Studies. Am thinking more about business now.

How hard is it to transfer (either before orientation) or later in your Freshman year to a business major (Marketing)? Heard that you need to have a GPA of 3.2-3.4 to transfer once there. Is that right? Is it better to request the transfer through the appchange@vt.edu email?

I believe MKTG is a restricted major so you would not be able to switch prior to orientation but instead apply during the competitive process. I recommend you look on VT’s Pamplin College of Business web-page or call the university as the rules change regularly and they will know the correct answer.
