changing major for UCLA before january 31

<p>if you want to change your major for UCLA, are you only allowed to change your major from your primary major to your alternate major?</p>

<p>or can you change it to a major that you did not list as either your primary major or your alternate major?</p>

<p>also, in terms of the essay, if one changes their major, then what will happen when admissions people see your essay is different in topic from your changed major?</p>

<p>or does this not matter if your gpa is above 3.9, you are TAP certified, have complete 100% of your prereqs, and applying for a major in the college of letters and sciences?</p>

<p>so in my case: </p>

<p>primary major: civil engineering
alternate major: math/econ</p>

<p>intending to do the following:</p>

<p>primary major: econ
alternate major: math/econ</p>

<p>From what i know… its too late to change your major. especially if its UCLA.</p>
