So I applied and got accepted into UCSB as a pre-sociology major (l&s) but wanted to change my major. I am just a little confused as to what’s off limits. On the page it says as a transfer you cannot apply to change your major to biological sciences (I am a senior in high school so im not a transfer?) but when I scroll down to see the open majors there are biological sciences listed. I am confused. Can I apply to change my major to one of the biological sciences or no? Thank you.
Wondering the same thing
From one vegan ucsb admit to another
@positivibes yay!! Thought I was the only vegan! Feel less sad now!
I changed my major from Pre-Communication to Global Studies as soon as I found out I was accepted. Details on http://admissions.sa.ucsb.edu/major-changes but basically what it says is:
- Email admissions@sa.ucsb.edu
- Make the subject "Major Change Request"
- In the email, include:
- Full legal name
- Application I.D. number or UCSB Perm number.
- List of all fall grades.
- Current major
- Intended major
It might take up to two weeks for the changes to be made (although mine showed up the next morning), and they might not respond when they do so check your portal regularly after you send the email.
Hope this helps! #FutureGaucho
(P.S. I wouldn’t worry about the transfer thing since you are a senior, but if you’re really concerned, I guess you can mention it in the email)
tmendelson…were you entering as a freshman or a transfer student?
