I applied to SDSU as a nursing major, but since then I’ve changed my mind about nursing and want to do something different. Is this going to cause issues with my admissions decision? I’m assuming it’s too late to change it before decisions come out.
If you applied as a Nursing major and you are not accepted into Nursing, you will not be accepted into another major at SDSU. If you are accepted into the Nursing program, I am sure you could contact admissions and change majors at that time. SDSU does not consider alternate majors so it is all or nothing. It couldn’t hurt to call admissions, since you never know. They might like to free up a spot for another nursing student.
@Gumbymom So to clarify, you think it wouldn’t hurt to contact admissions now and ask or call after I’m admitted (assuming I am)? I know I obviously won’t be able to switch if I got denied but hopefully I’ll get in so I have a chance. Thanks!
@SupremeCactus: Definitely could not hurt especially if you can free up another Nursing spot for a qualified applicant. I think you have nothing to lose.
