Changing majors affect application process?

I applied to MSU online at the end of August. I am undecided about my major, and I wasn't sure which school to apply to but I like biology, so I chose "School of Natural Science, No Major."

I have a 3.7 GPA at a college prep high school, and got a 24 on my ACT. Today I was informed that MSU wants my 7th semester grades. I called the admissions office and changed my major to undecided (I didn't know this option was available on the app; I thought you HAD to pick a school to apply to).

My question is, will the admissions board be informed of my change of major? Admissions says one of the determining factors in the process is the "availability of space in the desired academic program." Now I'm worried that they are including my being in the college of Natural Science as a determing factor of my being accepted.

Anyone have any knowledge of this kind of situation? I would REALLY appreciate any help.

It doesn’t matter. Your major does not affect your acceptance. You will be placed into a major as long as there’s room, and there’s few limited majors. But if the major IS full, it’s not going to make your admission harder.

THANKS!! you cannot believe how relieved I am
