Changing majors after 2 years... Is there hope?!

I transferred from City College of San Francisco to UC Santa Cruz just recently. In my first year of City College, I was planning to take on a business major but after a one year of taking business classes, I grew bored of it and changed my major to Computer Science. Unfortunately, having only one year of getting CS prereqs left me under the recommended amounts and doing just average in my Calculus courses pretty much destroyed my chances of getting into the major. So now as I'm entering UC Santa Cruz, I have to change my major again.

I realized I REALLY want to do biology but in City College, I didn't do anything biology related. Plus, biology seems like it has a ton of prereqs you need to do. So, I'm wondering... is it possible? I want to major in something like zoology or molecular bio. My GPA is around 2.8 and I feel its under whats required for a Bio major.

Do these 3 things ASAP.

 1. Check if your major is impacted.
 2. Talk to your counselor and the department head of biology or whereever it is you want to change majors to and see if you can.
 3. Check the maximum semesters/units you can stay/take at UCSC. (You want to make sure you’re allowed to finish everything before time’s up.)

If you encounter problems w/ changing majors or not being able to complete your major requirements before maximum semester/units, you can ask if you can drop out of UCSC thing semester and go back to a CC.

Please tell me how it goes as I’m curious to how hard changing majors is after transfer. (I’m so unsure about my major just like you =D)
