Changing majors as a freshman??

Does anyone know when the soonest time I can change my major is? I want to change from economics to computer engineering. Also does anyone know how hard it will be? I think it is an impacted major. I know that impacted major means that it is really popular but how does it affect the ability to change your major and what is the process? I need to sign up for my classes soon and I'm not sure whether to aim for Economics or Computer Engineering. Help anyone? TIA

haha ... have fun.

Current Students: Impacted Majors

Yeah i saw that website but I can't find anything about the whole process in how they choose admissions to Jacobs.

This question has come up many times, and I don't think I have ever seen anyone give a good answer on how this major change works. Contact CSE, maybe?

Well now you can change your major online, great new tool, but you can always do it the old way in which you simply fill out a piece of paper and turn it in.

And electrical engineering and CSE I believe are both open majors, you can change to them without applying to anything unless you've been at the school too long and still haven't complete the lower div. requirements, and since you're freshman and new to the school you don't have to worry about that.

Sorry CSE is not an open major, it's impacted excuse me for my fault, but Electrical is open.
