<p>Has anyone been successful changing majors between schools at Cal Poly SLO recently, Specifically from the Science and Math College to the Engineering College? Admissions and Engineering advisor says it can be done, but how difficult is it?</p>
<p>It’s definitely possible, and sometimes math/science major classes will overlap a lot with some engineering curriculums (for example, math and computer science). It shouldn’t be too hard, just start working on it as soon as possible. As long as you meet the requirements, which usually include a minimum GPA and taking intro courses for the new major, you should be fine.</p>
<p>Thanks NTKS17 for your response. That’s what Admissions and the Engineering Advisor told us, but we had heard horror stories about changing into Engineering. The lady at Admin said the requirements as an incoming math/science major are the same as engineering so he met that part of the requirement to request a change. It looks encouraging.</p>
