<p>I was admitted to UCSD with my second-choice major, which is General Biology. Now if I wanted to switch into my first-choice major, Biomedical Engineering, is there anyway I can make this change prior to being a registered student? If not, how long will I have to be in the General Biology major as a student before making my change?</p>

<p>there are no openings in any impacted major, so unless you had someone that wanted to switch places with you then you would not be able to switch.</p>
<p>What happens if i know a person in my school who got the Biomedical Engineering major but is not planning to go to UCSD? Anyway i can take her spot by calling someone?</p>

<p>@Blaze: They accept more people into impacted majors than they actually have room for (much like how the accept more students to the school than there’s room for.) They know a certain percentage won’t accept the offer. Your friend is that certain percentage.</p>
