"Thank you for your interest in the new Animation and Digital Arts BA starting this fall. You will need to complete one semester in the major you have been accepted before transferring to the animation major.

^ this is what she said to me before.

"This is a four year program so if admitted to our program youll complete the BA in four years starting in fall 2007."

^this is what she's telling me now. I'm hoping she read my mail WRONG and is thinking that i'm a senior in high school who's applying to USC and not a current student.

I really don't want to go for one more year mostly because i don't have time and i don't have the money to continue undergrad for one more year...

seems odd...though it is in cinema-tv and they have weird requirements in general.

Usually when new majors are introduced, there are arrangements made so current students have some opportunities to change to that, though.

I find it useful to actually go see the advisors in person if there's confusion...but it's better to handle it through email if possible, so you have a record of what they say :)

Definitely talk to them in person to figure it out. But one consideration is that in the future, people would be able to do this by taking a class or two one summer, whereas when the major is new, there may not be enough demand for the class to warrant them offering it in the summer.
