If I applied for CAS in NYU and get accepted. Is it easy to change majors WITHIN the College of Arts and Science (I know it's difficult to apply for a different school) but can I simply change my major any time?

Yes, as you aren’t required to declare a major in freshman year (I believe you declare in junior year).

So, let’s say you declare a major before junior year, you can still take core classes as well as the required classes for graduation, right? Put if you don’t have a major declared, what classes do you most likely take?

From this, I’m guessing the first two years are for general ed and explorative classes.

fartman38, yes to your second question. I declared Econ as soon as I go to NYU and I was able to take econ courses right away, in addition to the MAP classes that I was required to take. Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.
