I have recently applied to 4 UCs. After I applied, I decided to change my major(s). I got my chance when UC sent me the paper that said what I chose as my majors for each campus that I applied to. It said that if there are any changes, I should make them on that paper, and mail it to them. I did this, but now when I look online at my UC admissions status, it still shows my old majors. What can I do? Thanks.

At least for UCLA, and I suspect the others, as a freshman and sophmore, you can change your major at any time simply by visiting the department that you (ultimately) wish to major in and make the change. It's as simple as that -- for most majors, that is. I met a junior at UCLA the other day, who had just changed his major from economics to political science, and he said it was that simple. For me, when I attended (ages ago), I changed my major 3 times (and, yes, if this is the next question, it took me longer than four years to graduate).

I also should mention that even as a junior, if you do it early, you can switch. My husband also changed from economics to political science as a junior.

You can change your major once you get to UCLA, as UCLA77 mentioned. It's not hard, and don't worry about major affecting admission-- it doesn't, unless you applied for engineering or one of the specialized arts programs.

How hard is it to switch from one engineering disciple to another for UC Davis? I probaby won't get in anyway, but there is always a chance...

Once admitted into the College of Engineering we, the admissions, are told it is easier to change your major within the college. I would still recommend you double check this witht he College of Engineering.
