Changing Majors

Lol this has probably been asked often, but I was wondering whether it's possible for students to change their major after being admitted as a junior level transfer into any UC.

I got admitted into UCI as an Asian American Studies major, and I was thinking about switching over to a more stable major like Biological Sciences. Is it possible to do this if I haven't completed any of the lower-div major reqs at my CCC?

Yes and no. Some schools/college within the university] allow it and others don't. For example, Berkeley's College of Engineering is well known for not letting students switch majors within the College, or at least making it very difficult. On the contrary, I know some one that has switched from X* major to ChemE to chemistry within the College of Chemistry at Cal, and he's a transfer.

*I don't remember the major. :(

Call admissions and find out.

I think its okay since its in the same school of letters and sciences but the problem is that you haven't done teh pre-reqs. I imagine that biology has a lot of them. If this is the case there is a chance that they will not allow you to do so because the colleges have unit cap requirements and also a graduation timeline. Plus as a junior you are suppose to be taking upper division classes. I don't know! I'm sure there is literature on the web to answer your question.
