I will be entering UCSD Fall 2009 as an environmental engineering major.
But i've been thinking about physical therapy. Is it possible to change major? if so to what?

Two words: SEARCH FUNCTION.

As long as the major you want to change into is not impacted, you can change majors easily online when you become a student. It takes like 30 seconds.

[Impacted Majors](http://www.ucsd.edu/current-students/academics/majors-minors/impacted-majors.html)

Sorry if this was asked before, but how hard is it to change from one impacted major to another? I got in with General Biology (which was my first choice at the time) but now I’m more interested in Biochemistry.

blackberry - i don’t think you can. i don’t think it matters if you are currently in an impacted major.

not sure if it’s impossible or not.

^ Oh okay, that sounds reasonable. Thanks for answering.

You can always switch to the cooler Biochemistry major in the Chem department.

you can change your major. its easist to do it before fall 2009. However, its possible to chaneg majors anytime. its just alot of paperwork! and Ge’s

Is biochemistry an impacted major?

no, bioengineering is tho

@ ninjashayna – seriously, there’s a link to impacted majors higher up on this page :)

Haha. Yeah, I went there. Blackberry’s post confused me a bit. xD

bump

So, I read this page for the first time…

[enrollment management](http://www-biology.ucsd.edu/undergrad/enrollmentmanagement.html)

Does that mean I can switch from General Biology to Biochemistry without much hassle? (so relieved that I didn’t choose undecided on UC app)

blackberry:

well if you switch to the biochemistry under the biology department its easy.

If you switch to the biochemistry under the chemistry department it will also be easy, BUT you can only switch back into biology once without having to go through all that extra crap( excellant student process)

^ OK, that’s what I thought. (: Then I’m definitely going to switch to Biochemistry & Cell Biology~
