Change of plans. If I decide to attend BU this fall, I want to change my major from Art History to International Relations or Sociology. How quickly and easily can I get this done? Plus, how do I do it?

very easily, just talk to an advisor in each major and you just fill out a form and have to have a certain gpa, like a 2.7 or something, to switch

Since all those majors are in CAS and you wouldn’t be transferring to another school within BU, it’d be pretty easy.

P.S. You’re not even required to declare your major until 2nd semester sophomore year, so you wouldn’t technically have to switch anything if you decided this before then…you’d just start taking classes in your new intended major.

The last post is right.

It is important for international relations though, because so many freshmen start out IR that they don’t let non-majors take intro to IR in the fall. So you will want to change if you want that class. It’s still ok if you don’t though, because you can take econ or other classes required for IR and you won’t be behind.
