I was accepted into Biological Sciences (which was my alternate major, my preferred major was nursing science) and I am considering going to UCI, but I think I want to change my major... maybe phar-sci or biochemistry or public health. How hard is it to get my major changed? I was reading the FAQ on the UCI website and it said that you have to first enroll in the school and then you can request to change the major at the orientation.

Changing your major at SPOP (orientation) is simple. You add yourself to the list of students in the major you want and basically join their specific orientation. The only majors you can’t change into are Business Administration, things in Engineering, and I will assume Nursing as well.

@jenni123 Another alternative to changing majors would be via the message center at your UCI portal.

One question i would like to know is if the chemistry major is tough to switch into.
