Changing my spring classes?

As the semester is ending, I am realizing that I like history and sociology more than science. I'm applying to Davis as a nutritional science major, but would like to switch to one of these. I think I'm going to take another semester of ochem so I have it under my belt in case I change my mind later. However, I'd like to switch genetics to either a soc or a history class. My two other classes have to be public speaking and critical reasoning because I want to be eligable for CSU transfer too.

So can I change my spring classes without messing everything up? Can I possibly change the major I'm applying for now? Will it be a problem if I only have a couple prep courses for that major?

I know that it isn’t a problem to switch classes. In a few weeks when UC’s ask us to report our most current grades they also ask what classes we are planning to take for the following semester again.

make sure you have the breadth reqs done and as many reqs as you can from the assist.org for the major you are applying for…even if you plan to change your major later. you know what you are doing, but when the admissions board sees that instead of taking classes that you need for the major you applied under, you switched to some random (seemingly) other classes, they are going to wonder whats up.

Okay, that makes sense. I’d still be keeping one of my prereqs, ochem, but here’s what I’d like to do:

Switch from:
Ochem
Genetics
Public Speaking
Critical Reasoning and Logic

to:
Ochem
Imperialism and Independence (history)
Deviant Behavior (soc)
Public Speaking
Critical Reasoning and Logic

I’d be taking 20 units if I dropped genetics. The public speaking and critical reasoning and logic have to stay for the CSU requirements :(

Too risky? btw UCD is my goal. Not UCLA, UCB, UCSD…
