Changing Rolling Admissions?

Several people have mentioned in other threads that U of Michigan was changing their admissions process next year away from rolling admissions to ED/RD. I have not seen anything formal written about this. Is it true? Can anyone link to an article about the change?

Thanks.

I haven’t heard anything of the sort.

Well currently University of Michigan ( I think) is practicing of being apart of common application as you may notice those who applied RD may still get the ( although it’s not) deferrel like letter. For common application the universities typically require students to report 7th semester grades.

I heard about this but I don’t know if there is any truth to the rumor.

That would suck. I wonder how much more difficult it would be to get in RD if this actually happens.

The Record reported on Nov 16 that the university has applied to join the Common Application ([University applies to join Common Application service](http://www.ur.umich.edu/0910/Nov16_09/02.php)). If approved, it should be effective for the next admission cycle.

^But does that mean Michigan would go to ED/RD?

I haven’t heard about that at all. Prospective students sometimes confuse Early Response with ED/EA. I’d believe it when I see it in print.
