Changing to Business economics major at UCLA

Hi,

So I am currently in the process of applying to UCLA and a few other schools. I am applying to many as a political science major because my extracurriculars, essays, and even test scores make me a strong candidate. Although I enjoy political science, I am much more certain I will want to change to business economics. If I were to go to UCLA or any other UC school. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to transfer from political science to business economics at UCLA in particular? It’s pre biz econ so I believe all students will have to apply/declare the major after two years anyways.

Any advice helps, thanks

you have it right. everyone has to apply to the actual major.

If you want to major in business economics, why not just apply for business economics with political science as a backup major (if that’s possible)? College admissions officers are not expecting all of your extracurriculars and classes to line up perfectly with your career goals; nobody expects people to know at 13-14 exactly what they might be interested in majoring in in 3-4 years.
