I just had my guidance counselor send out my transcripts and letters to about nine colleges, and now I’m regretting sending my stuff to two of them. With the app fees, applying to that many colleges is too freakin expensive… Is it okay to call the admissions office of the colleges and say that you’re sorry but you applied to too many places and are not going to send the rest of the application? Is there a better way to say that? Can the other schools you applied to find out you did this? (ok, I’m being paranoid now) Any thoughts?

sure, there's no reason you need to finish applying. but if you already sent them application fees, i don't think they'll give them back.

you can just not send the rest of the app, but if you've already sent the whole thing, there's no point. I'm 99% sure chalk is right, they won't give you the application fee back.

yay, thanks for the info. I did not send the app fees yet, and without those two schools' fees I'm 120 bucks richer. happiness
