Hi folks

A bit of an urgent question here.

I had a manuscript accepted for publication last weekend (it was a 2nd revision, FWIW). The manuscript was thus sent to the publishers and I anticipate getting a "proof" this week or next.

I just found an article that is about 80% related to mine, that was published in the 1980s. I seriously need to reference that paper. But should I do at this point? Should I email the editor and ask him to make changes? Is it common to do something like this after acceptance?

Thanks.
