well...you're out of state. i dunno if being iranian will help you but for OOS your stats are low.

well..I think you're chances are pretty low...so that sucks for you. Good thing I'm in-state, so I'll definitely get in. Plus my scores are higher than yours anyways, so its my safety. Yea.. UNC is really easy to get into if you are instate..you could probably get in if you were instate.

wow that was unnecessarily rude chocowoman

i think you might have better chances at other schools that have a higher acceptance rate of out of staters...your stats arent low but theyre not spectacular either. but you should be able to find plenty of other match schools.

i think being iranian will help but, but you have pretty low SATs for out of state, and a lot of people from NY will try UNC also. Your gpa is pretty low, becaues the avg gpa is like a 4.0, and probably like 3.7 unweighted.

Your classes are very good, it is easy to tell that you have been taking hard classes and challenging yourself.

i think that if you have amazing essays and recs, i would put your chances at 5%, because dont forget only 18% of out of staters get in. If you had applied EA, your chances would have increased to atleast 10%...

just being honest...its reality

but theres no need to be rude & tactless. have a little class.

yea..that is what you call tactless as jf215 said..that was totally uncalled for. That is not being honest, that is being RUDE. Ever heard of trying to help people, instead of saying that "it suxs for you" or "its my saftey"? Do you want us to say that to you when you ask for chances?

you wouldn't be saying that when i ask for my chances becuase i'm not stupid enough to post my stats here. no one up here can say for sure whether or not someone will get in..unless your an adcom. basically all it shows is your insecurity and you're willingness to trust strangers who really don't know what they are talking about.

who says that i trust the strangers? i see what other people think just for the heck of it. And sometimes, people who go there will have some insight, which helps. If people think that i wont get into Rice, im not gonna NOT apply just because they said so.

The chances thread is pretty much for what i said before: to see what others think, whether they may or may not have experience in it.

it doesn't show insecurity, but its pretty much curiosity of what others think.

aww. be nice yall. i think you have an OK chance. UNC is soo unpredictable. but i hope you get in. i hear its a beautiful school :)! i wanna go there too.

It is sad that its so much easier to get in when you live in state..but of course thats the way it is. We faced that situation last year.. Honestly I dont think you will get in based on your stats and you are female which also hurts..but you never know. Best of luck.
