Looks like decisions should be coming out the 14th. Checked Web Advisor this afternoon to see a decision had been reached today. Maybe I'm just a bit paranoid, but is it a good or bad sign a decision was reached a week before letters go out?

It isn’t good or bad. Decisions have been made but you will not hear back until March 14th. They are, and I quote from their head of admissions, “Shaping their freshmen class” so that’s why your status is being withheld. I am early action and still haven’t heard back so they’re doing it very weird this year.

My decision just changed as well. So we won’t be receiving a letter until after the 14th (if we got accepted), but we could be receiving an email the 14th… So nerve-wracking.

Anyone know what time on the 14th emails are supposed to go out? Is it safe to say that if we make it through the 14th without receiving an email we got in?

jwire4 Chapman just said that we will find out that day, no specific time. And if you don’t hear back that day you should probably call them and figure out what the deal is because all decisions are supposed to come out that day.

It seems as though you will be receiving an email only if you are denied / wait listed. Letters will be sent out the 14th, so people should have them at some point the following week. This is all according to a post on the official Chapman Tumblr page. Let’s hope for letters!

According to Chapman’s tumblr page for admission, all decisions were FINALIZED Monday, March 10. Acceptances will be TRIGGERED Friday, but you might not find out for about five days. So don’t call them Friday if you haven’t found out. It might have just been sent.

I found the following RD Admissions update that was posted this evening on the Chapman U Office of Admission’s Tumblr website tonight:

Friday March 14th Night Update

We thank you for your patience over the last few weeks and months. We’re happy to report that all acceptance packets were mailed out to freshmen who applied by the regular admission deadline for Fall 2014. Please note, if you applied late (after the deadline), you will have to wait a little longer for your decision because it took longer to complete your file and for the admission committee to properly review your file. So again, admit packets hit the mail today and will probably start showing up in mailboxes in Southern California as early as tomorrow.

But this also means that if you were not admitted (if you were denied, offered the wait list, etc.), you will be receiving an email on Saturday around 3 p.m. 10 a.m. PDT. All emails will go out tomorrow and should be delivered around 3 p.m. (PDT). We must reiterate though that just because you don’t receive an email tomorrow, don’t automatically assume you’re admitted until you get something in the mail. We’ve experienced it in the past where we have a bad email address or the email goes to a spam folder. If this happens, our system looks for a bounced email address or if an email isn’t opened/read within a week and generates the related letter. This is the most common question we get, if I don’t get an email, does that mean I’m admitted. And we can’t answer yes or no. Some of the admit packets that are sent out will even be returned for having bad addresses. So, we ask that you just wait for either an email or letter in the mail before contacting out office. If you still haven’t received a decision by the end of the month, then reach out to your counselor or our office so we can check your file and get out another decision.

It’s been an exciting day, week, month and year for the admission office and we want to thank all of you for applying. The number of students who apply to Chapman continues to rise and becomes more diverse every year, which makes us proud and also makes our jobs harder. We want to remind you whether you end up at Chapman or another university, we’re proud of you for making the first big step of applying. So many people never take that risk so you should be proud of yourself for such an accomplishment and we know you’ll succeed at whatever institution you end up at. Finally, remember we’re always here to help whether you have questions about Chapman or the admission process in general. Always feel free to reach out to us on Tumblr, Twitter or Facebook, or contact our office at admit@chapman.edu or 714-997-6711.

Good night, and good luck!

Chapman says all emails have gone out by now, so it’s looking good for all those who didn’t receive one. Still waiting for the mail to arrive here in SoCal…

Big envelope from Chapman in the mail today. Have to wait till son gets home late tonight to see what it says :-)

The website hasn’t changed for him. We live about 30 min from Chapman. He applied for the dual Math/Eng degree with UCI. Super cool program. Can’t wait to see what is inside that envelope and hoping for money :-)

Keeping track for my friend’s daughter. As of two seconds ago (!), she has not received the email but also did not receive the packet in today’s mail. We are about an hour away from Chapman. Good luck to all waiting to hear and congratulations to those that have been accepted!
