That’s what all my friends and family tell me lol. Biology is at the forefront of my academic interests for now but you never now ¯_(ツ)_/¯
@venturejunkie These are all great reminders. Those of us with kids who have been through the college process know that there is no perfect school and no perfect fit. There will always be tradeoffs and compromises. Furthermore, sometimes what you think you want turns out not to be right (i.e., you thought you wanted a big university with lots of school spirit, but it turns out, you don’t thrive in larger classes or hate feeling like “a number”). Things have a way of working out when it comes to college.
By the way, you mentioned that you already heard good news from University of San Diego. I didn’t think they had EA/ED and don’t release decisions until Feb/March. Did they change their timeline?
My bad I meant San Diego Christian College not USD. You’re right they don’t have ED/EA from what I saw just RD. Changed that aforementioned error to reflect SDCC.
Also just found out I got into Concordia University Irvine which is very exciting and a school that I liked when I visited
I think ED for Chapman came out at 3:30 PST so EA could also be then
my update is here!!!
Did you get an email notification?
no, not yet. I’m about to open it
Accepted EA College of Engineering
They put me as considered for the regular decision pool…
Deferred EA, but I’d honestly take it as a win. 3.28 UW GPA, 3.37 W GPA, 2.5 GPA freshmen year, 3.7 GPA sophomore year, 4.1 GPA junior year, and I’m on track for earning a 4.5 GPA first semester Senior year which would look really good in regards to Chapman. Applied for Biology.
I even got a D in Algebra II as well, and I have no test scores to report, but I have a Kaiser Permanente Internship, UIUC Engineering high school program, Discover Swarthmore Fly-in program, UCLA EAOP advanced writing bootcamp, Science Olympiad Captain, Founder of my own Online business, Working full-time to dismantle financial barriers imposed by the pandemic, and a plethora of other community service events and leadership positions.
Schools I’ve gotten Accepted so far: University of San Francisco (Top choice so far), Westmont College, University of La Verne, University of the Pacific, Vanguard University, Condorovia University Irvine, San Diego Christian College, Holy Names University, Point Loma Nazarene University, Biola University (Second choice so far).
Schools I’ve gotten Deferred so far: Soka University of America, Santa Clara University, Chapman University
Schools I’ve gotten Rejected so far: None (yet).
Deferred as well. We’ll get there!
I’m very frustrated honestly HAHA like I’ve been stressing for a week and they really push me to regular decision…rip
