Any scholarship?

Has anybody received talent/departmental awards? Specifically Fowler School of Engineering scholarships? I received a letter for the presidential scholarship, but I was wondering if that is all. Are the departmental awards based on FAFSA or merit?

Presidential Scholar - Merit Scholarship

May I ask for your stats? My D was expecting a Presidential Scholarship with her stats but got a Provost Scholarship instead

Weighted: 4.06
Unweighted: like 3.6 something? I’m not too sure
Applied to: Dodge College Broadcast Journalism
No SAT/ACT
Super strong letter of recommendation and essays
4 AP classes (6 if you count this year), 1 IB (3 if you count this year), and I think around 7-8 honors?

On board for 2 of the biggest clubs on campus, in NHS, in film and broadcast journalism honors and have lead role in broadcast class. Did a video company internship over the summer. On golf team.

Again, I did get deferred, but I know that dodge is super hard to get into so who knows

I really need good financial aid to go here but I don’t know if I’m applicable for any scholarships

At the bottom in red it just says respond to your offer of admission but there is no need based financial aid info or scholarship info. :frowning:

Oh no I got deferred :frowning:

Sure!

Weighted: 4.6
Unweighted: 4.0
Computer science
1490 SAT
Average letters of rec/essays
13 AP/IB courses + all honors classes
Average extracurriculars

For reference I just got accepted with a UW 3.73 and W 3.78. I did not submit my SAT scores. I had 3 letters of recommendation. 1 AP class, 3 Dual Enrollment College Courses. Average extra curriculars.

are you in state or out of state? my stats are pretty similar, just a little higher for weighted GPA and AP’s plus an above-avg ACT for Chapman… how competitive is the presidential scholarship?

you don’t have to respond if it’s too personal!! i’m just the first in my family to go to college in the states and there’s not a lot of info on the merit scholarship titles online… i just want to know why who gets which scholarship haha

I’m trying to do the same. What was your ACT score?

i took it for the first time in february 2020 and got a 31 cumulative score with 35 english, 35 reading and mediocre math and science. i took the 12/12 ACT so i’m hoping for a higher STEM score… but even the 31 puts me in the top 25%

Of course, his stats are:
In state
