Chapman Early Action: Class of 2022

Hey guys,

Wanted to start a thread for Chapman University’s Early Action Class of 2021. Feel free to talk about your statistics, application, or anything in between.

I applied EA about a week ago now as an Economics major. Can’t wait until mid-December when the admission results come out.

I applied 2 days ago EA as a Creative Producing major. Chapman is my top choice, so I’m really hoping to get in.

applied today EA as envi sci and policy

I applied EA to Business w/ a 3.5 GPA & 31 ACT. Do I have a solid chance with the low GPA?

I think with your high ACT you have a solid chance

I applied EA as Political Science w/ a 3.7 and pretty low act
Chapman’s my top choice I hope I can still get in with my act

I think you have a pretty good chance since your ACT score is high.

Applied ED to film production with a second choice of Tv writing and production with a 4.2 gap and 33 Act!

You have a pretty good chance for a presidential scholarship with your stats (quentinRJJA)
.

Does anyone wanna share their EC’s and essay topics? I know how important they are, especially if you applied to Dodge.

Does it help if you have a sibling already attending Chapman? I know some colleges support alumni kids at times…

I’m sure it helps that you have a sibling attending Chapman, plus your stats are good so you have a good chance of admission.

I applied ED to Creative Production in Dodge but I have a low gpa(upward trend) and an average/ slightly below average SAT. I’m showing a lot of demonstrated interest through interviews, tours, communicating w/ admissions and applying ED. My essays/supplements are definitely the strongest parts of my application and were meticulously crafted. Many teachers and counselors have also commented on the strength of my essays. I also do a lot of extracurriculars in theatre/performance related activities. I’m not sure how Chapman does ED because this their first year doing it, but my application shows that I’m more of a creative, artistic, and gritty person that is willing to learn form their failures and improve. I feel like I have a good shot at getting into Dodge itself (not in a presumptuous way), but I’m nervous about my common app stats and if it’s an automatic turnoff for Chapman.

@cnc4599 I’d be interested in sharing some of my portfolio and supplements if you wanted to take a look because we already applied to the same major.

I’d love that!

I also think my essays and EC’s will advantage me and set me apart but yeah I’m scared if my grades and test scores will become a big turn off compared to the rest of my application… I see people having 4.0+ and amazing test scores applying while I’m here with a 3.7 and low test scores…

I’m a first generation student but I don’t know if they even take that into consideration so…

My DS applied EA as a potential English major. Weighted GPA 3.7; SAT 1390 (single score). We visited when he was a sophomore and it was love at first sight. I think he has a decent chance, based on the Naviance scatterplots. He is quirky and his essay reflected that. He has some IB higher level classes and lots of ECs in the performing arts and school spirit activities.

Mid-December is only a few weeks away!

Good luck everyone!

Applied ED in August for Strategic and Corporate Com. GPA: 96 unweighted, ACT: 30. Strong ECs and essays. Obviously my number 1 choice! Good luck to everyone!
